About

Tech Afterlife is a catalog of consumer tech that its makers discontinued, abandoned, or quietly forgot, and that people still search for, buy, and use.

Every page tries to answer the same questions:

  • What is it? Specs and a bit of history, in plain English.
  • What does it sell for now? Based on real sold prices, not wishful asking prices.
  • What do owners say? Summaries of community discussion, with links.
  • Is it still worth it? A straight yes, no, or depends, with the reasoning.

We don't take paid placements. Some links may become affiliate links, which help pay for the site at no cost to you. That never changes a verdict.

How we research

Every page is built from public sources, and we link them so you can check our work.

  • Prices: used prices come from eBay sold listings, never asking prices. Each page says how many sales we looked at and over what dates. New prices come from the maker or major retailers.
  • Specs: manufacturer pages, original spec sheets, and well-sourced references.
  • What owners say: Reddit, enthusiast forums, and professional reviews, summarized and linked.
  • History and nostalgia: where the device came from, why it mattered, and why people still care.

Each page shows the date it was last checked. Prices move, so we re-check them.
